G1 Toy - Tornado recreated to fit in with the new animation style

After recently attending BUCK and meeting CheeseyBurger, my love for drawing was rekindled. So I’m currently having fun redrawing the G1 ponies that I used to love, Soon we’ll have ALL THE PONIES!!!!

Sorry I haven’t ben about in a while I’ve been busy flittering about with university, writing my dissertation and running a society.
Oh yeah there’s some news! I am chair of the Plymouth University Brony Society, pretty sweet eh? So todays post is My Little Pony related.

My Pony OC (I.D. or whatever you want to call it) is up on here now, his name is Lucky Bucks and has a cutie mark to match my butt tattoo!

Commission for the Chachoo company run by Sherry Pritchet.

The Chachoo website should be up and running soon and the designers most recently created collections were exhibited at The Clothes Show 2011.

I believe that they are currently taking orders on their blog with contact details provided!
And each design arrives with a gift cup of tea from the designer herself, definitely worth a look for the fashion conscious who want their clothes tailor made to fit.

IMPACT

Another early project I made in collaboration with the Plymouth City Museum and Art Gallery (click link to go to site) looking at the intimate bond between predator and prey, how the tenuous bond of dependence rests on us to educate ourselves on the preservation of natural habitats.

This batch of work focuses solely on the specimens found in Plymouth City Museum and was the starting point for three projects that were based on global warming and the effects on smaller organisms and insects. Eventually using a scanning electron microscope to take a much more in-depth and subjective look at flora.

As far as I understand the specimens photographed here are still available to see in the museum for those who wish to visit, which I highly recommend.  :)

THE NUDE, BEAUTY AND FOOD

A project I took up in university over a period of a few weeks, I wanted an amalgamation of  photographic elements purely to see what kind of reaction I would get from an audience. Without any leading information I asked “what do you see in the work?” The result was mixed, sense of arousal, disgust and general confusion were amongst the top few responses received.

Interestingly very few spoke about the relationship with indulgence and body image. Though on the whole I simply wanted to combine elements that individually I figured were beautiful, and tried to arrange them in a grotesque way. Photographed them with typical “beauty lighting” for a feminine look and feel, then gauged the reactions of my audience. My earlier pieces having been darker and more graphic, I tried to steer clear of the idea of sex or violence.

Against Nature is a project I have recently undertaken to take a more dynamic look at the effects of global warming on individual plant cells at a cellular level.

Beginning the project was a lot of fun, having made an interesting discovery along the way about a section of woodland up in Dartmoor, Devon. I wanted to inspire a dialogue with the final book: the tentative link between science and art is something I am fascinated with and have found that even while heading towards a set goal it is easy to find myself straying in either one direction or the other.

Including Cover sheet and Contact details. Spent a while working very hard on this one so I think volumes two and three will be up and coming soon!!

A zine I am currently working on for the Books Arts Fayre being held in Cardiff next week! excitement builds!!!!

Now you’re thinking with Drawers.
